Raw Sushi in Seoul
One thing that I am looking forward to is flying out to Japan and seeking out the best sushi and sashimi that won’t cost me an arm and a leg. I am definitely willing to dish out the dinero for some quality sushi. Every once in awhile, I miss the good, quality sushi I use to have access to in Little Tokyo. But I have come to find that there is good sushi in Seoul if you’re ever in the mood. Raw in Gangnam has a variety of rolls, sushi, and other Japanese style dishes for your dining pleasure.
Located near Gangnam Station (well, closer to Sinnonhyeon Station), Raw is located on the second floor just a couple blocks off the main street. I’ve had a couple chances to dine here and ordered a variety of rolls to see how they were. The quality of the fish, and rolls are decent. I can’t say that I absolutely love this place, but for the price, location, selection, and the fact that we were craving sushi specifically, I would probably visit here again given the same conditions.
We ordered a couple rolls: Yammy Spicy Shrimp, and the Baked Scallop roll; I ordered some Hwedupbap – which is a rice bowl mixture of raw fish, vegetables, and a particular Korean hot sauce. We also split some Miso Chasu Ramen. We finished off the meal with some deep fried ice cream. Everything was good – nothing that was particularly memorable – just good. If you’re looking for some rolls and sushi in Seoul, Raw is an option that is worth considering.
Low down: Rolls, sushi, and whatever else you’re in the mood for.
