Seoul is definitely a great place for all things new and cool. With the inception of Psy taking over the globe with his “Gangnam Style” phenomenon, the cultural relevance and imprint that Korea is making has been intriguing to say the least. I believe that Korea, specifically Seoul, will continue to thrive in many ways. The Itaewon Festival is going on this weekend and it will be jam packed with food, trinkets to shop for, shows, and just a good time. If you want to eat some good food in Seoul, check out the festival as there are dozens upon dozens of different cuisines you can sample from various nations. The Itaewon Global Village Festival celebrates the cultural diversity that is found in Korea, and the main street of this “expat” neighborhood is closed off for this celebration.
It was interesting to see the native Korean’s engaging in the different cultures and cuisines of the world. Also interesting to see Gary Payton (aka “The Glove”) out and about in the neighborhood doing some endorsement work. If you’re looking for just a good time, something definitely worth checking out.
